About this tool
Turn your skills gap into a learning plan
The fastest way to land a better role is to close the distance between where you are and what the job asks for. The skills gap analyzer makes that distance concrete: it reads your resume, works out what your target role needs, and shows you the exact skills to build — in priority order, with free places to learn each one.
Upload or paste your resume, then either paste a real job description or pick a target domain and level. The tool highlights the skills you already have, the ones the role requires, and your gap, plus an overall overlap percentage. When you paste a posting, gaps are ranked by how often each skill is mentioned, so you always know what to learn first.
For each gap you'll see curated free resources — platforms like TryHackMe, freeCodeCamp, Kaggle and Google's free courses depending on your field. Then generate an AI learning roadmap that turns your gaps into a practical 30/60/90-day plan with projects and time estimates. Export the whole report as a PDF, and when you're ready, check your progress with the resume match tool.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What does the skills gap analyzer do?
It compares your resume against a target role — either a job description you paste or one of 12 domains you select — and shows the skills you already have, the skills the role needs, and the gap between them. Each gap skill comes with a free learning resource, and you can generate an AI-powered 30/60/90-day learning roadmap to close the gap.
Is it free and private?
Yes. The skills comparison runs 100% in your browser — your resume is never uploaded. The optional AI learning roadmap sends only a short prompt (your skills and gaps, not a stored copy of your resume) to our Gemini proxy, and is limited to 5 free generations per day. Everything else, including the PDF export, works offline.
How are priority gaps ranked?
When you paste a job description, gap skills are ranked by how often they appear in the posting — the more a skill is mentioned, the more important it is, so it appears higher in your priority list. When you pick a domain instead, gaps follow that field's canonical skill order. Focus your learning time on the top of the list first.
Where do the learning resources come from?
Each domain maps to a curated set of well-known free or freemium platforms — for example TryHackMe and Hack The Box for cybersecurity, freeCodeCamp and The Odin Project for programming, Google Digital Garage and HubSpot Academy for marketing, and Kaggle and fast.ai for data science. They're starting points, not endorsements, and the AI roadmap suggests concrete projects to apply what you learn.
Do I need a job description?
No. You can paste a specific job description for the most tailored result, or simply choose a target role and level from the dropdowns to compare your resume against that field's typical skill set. Pasting a real posting gives the most accurate priority ranking because gaps are weighted by how often each skill is mentioned.
