Corrections Policy

Why this policy exists

CrispToolHub publishes financial calculators and guides that people use to make real decisions about tax, savings and retirement. Tax slabs, interest rates and contribution limits change on government schedules, and a wrong number on a calculator is worse than no calculator at all. So we treat error reports as the most important email we receive, and we hold ourselves to specific, dated commitments below rather than a vague promise to "look into it".

The correction process

Every reported error goes through the same five steps, in order:

  1. Report. You email us the page and the problem. Anyone can report, no account needed.
  2. Acknowledge. We reply within 24 hours confirming we received the report and are checking it.
  3. Verify. We check the claim against the official source for that figure: the government department, regulator or central bank that publishes it. We do not accept or reject a report based on another blog or a news summary.
  4. Fix. If the error is confirmed, we correct the page and the underlying calculator code within 48 hours, rebuild the site and verify the fix on the live page.
  5. Log and note. Significant corrections are added to the public log below, and the corrected page carries an updated date so returning readers can see something changed.

How to report an error

If you find incorrect financial data, a stale tax rate or a factual error in any article or calculator, please email hello@crisptoolhub.com. A useful report includes:

  • The page URL
  • The specific error, quoted or described
  • The correct information with a source, ideally the official one

A one-line email with just the page URL and "this rate looks old" is still welcome. We would rather verify a vague report than miss a real error.

Our response commitment

  • We acknowledge all correction reports within 24 hours
  • We verify the reported error against official sources, never against secondhand summaries
  • We update content within 48 hours of a confirmed error
  • We note the correction date on the updated page
  • If a report turns out to be wrong, we reply and explain why, with the source we checked

Correction log

We maintain a transparent record of significant corrections below. Minor formatting or typo corrections are not listed.

Corrections versus updates

Financial rates such as interest rates, tax brackets and contribution limits change on government schedules. When we refresh a calculator because a new rate took effect, that is an update, not a correction, and it does not appear in the log above. A correction means we published something that was wrong at the time we published it. Both get fixed the same way; only the labelling differs. Our full verification process, including the monthly automated audit of tracked rates, is on the editorial standards page.
